How Certification Works American Welding Society and ASME
Fusion Welding Institute provides the training required to prepare you for certification either to the American Welding Society (AWS) or the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
At the conclusion of the FWI training program students can elect to certify to either AWS or ASME. All certification testing will be coordinated and scheduled by Fusion Welding Institute and conducted by a 3rd party depending on the certification the student wishes to obtain.
When a student completes the Fusion Welding Institute training program, certification testing is scheduled and performed by the following.
- AWS certification testing is conducted at Fusion Welding Institute by an AWS accredited test facility.
- ASME testing is conducted at Fusion Welding Institute by M3 Power Group.
After successful certification testing, students receive certification documentation in accordance with ASME or AWS.
